The NEW Scholarship

The National Environment and Water (NEW) Scholarship

BACKGROUND

The National Environment and Water (NEW) Scholarship was launched in 2008 by the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources. The NEW Scholarship is an undergraduate scholarship targeted at students who have a keen interest in the dynamic environment and water sector. The NEW Scholarship is jointly offered by the National Environment Agency (NEA) and PUB, the national water agency. The NEW scholarship aims to ensure sufficient talents in specific areas of expertise and skills in the organization.

The National University of Singapore (NUS) and NEA have agreed to collaborate and provide students enrolled under the Bachelor of Environmental Studies (BES) Programme the opportunity to apply for the NEW Scholarship.

The collaboration between NEA and NUS will support NEA in building up its talents in specific areas of expertise and skills and help NUS ensure that better students are sufficiently trained under the BES programme and be able to join NEA with minimal training and orientation.
